REINVENTING THE CARE PACKAGE MARKET AND TURNING IT ON IT'S BOX
College Care Packages The Box-O-Box Way
NEW YORK CITY, August 15th, 2008 - College students nationwide might notice a little more yellow and orange on campus when they go to the mail room and pick up packages this fall semester. Beginning in september, all colleges nationwide will able to receive care packages by Box-O-Box, previously offered to only a few hundred colleges and universities nationwide.
Launched in December 2006, Box-O-Box has quickly made itself known in the college market. The care package company offers a not-found-anywhere line-up of product mixes for family and friends to send to their students while away at school. Students nationwide are surprised by the doorstep arrival of the eye-catching, brightly colored & fun themed Box-O-Box which include items like:
Cool Dorm Stuff Box with Galaxy Granola and a Box-O-Box Dorm Room Basketball Hoop
Box-O-Birthday with party hats, balloons, and a Box-O-Box Piñata
Exam-Time-Box with Yogi "IQ" Tea and a Box-O-Box stress ball
Not leaving any students behind, Box-O-Box has created over 22 different boxes to suit any taste, style or interest. "We've teamed up with companies that provide products that fit within the theme of each box," said Justin Zucker, Senior Product Developer. "We try to work with companies with a social and environmental awareness, whose products taste good, and are generally good for you. Also, a lot of the inedible items are designed by our staff, so instead of getting basic off-the-shelf-brand tissues, students receive Box-O-Box-designed tissues which have a fun little twist."
Along with the bright, colorful and functional branded items, each box has a variety of food items that have been chosen by staff, parents and students through extensive research. "We strive to achieve parental approval and student satisfaction," said David Gerber, VP of Customer Service and Parent Relations. "It's a pretty simple formula with an excellent result."
Student government associations, fraternities and sororities, sports clubs and social groups on many campuses have partnered with Box-O-Box as an attractive fund-raising outlet.
"Our Box-O-Boxes provide a fresh alternative for showing students you care in a way they appreciate and a language they understand," said Michael S. Hauke, Box-O-Box President and CEO. "With boxes like Detox-O-Box to cure the late night party or the Dorm BBQ, students are continually impressed by how fun and different our boxes are. That's why we've seen such a large increase in demand." Beginning this September, Box-O-Box will service all colleges nationwide.
Each box also comes with a "How-To" guide which shows students fun ways to use the box. "Our goal is to make affordable, fun and unique care packages that students will get excited about," said Gerber. "We feel that it's important for college students to feel support from their friends and family to help ease the stress from a heavy workload and life away from home. Besides, wouldn't you want to shoot hoops, pamper yourself or grow Sea Monkeys in your dorm room?"
Box-O-Boxes can be ordered individually or as a "Box-O-Mester" - an option that allows parents to order and pay for boxes in advance, and shipped on pre-selected dates over the course of the semester.
